About Approli

The Employee Operations Platform Built to Reduce Work

Approli is an employee operations platform designed to help organizations manage, automate, and coordinate the everyday processes that keep their workforce running.

Employee operations involve far more than maintaining employee records. Organizations must coordinate attendance, schedules, shifts, absences, onboarding, approvals, policies, administrative tasks, departmental responsibilities, and other processes that change throughout the working day.

These processes are often spread across spreadsheets, email, messaging applications, paper records, separate software systems, and manual follow-ups.

Approli brings many of these operational processes together in one platform and adds automation directly to the workflows that organizations use to manage their employees.

Our focus is simple:

Reduce repetitive work. Connect everyday employee processes. Give organizations better visibility and control.

Approli is operated by Red Opal Inc., a U.S.-based technology company.

Why We Built Approli

Many organizations do not need more software simply for the sake of having software.

They need software that actually reduces the amount of work required to operate their organization.

A manager should not have to repeatedly check whether an employee completed a task. An administrator should not have to manually coordinate every absence or shift change. A team should not have to maintain multiple spreadsheets simply to understand who is scheduled, who is absent, what needs approval, and what still needs to be completed.

Yet these types of administrative processes remain common.

Approli was created around a different idea:

Employee software should help organizations do the work, not simply record the work.

That principle influences how we design the platform.

Rather than treating automation as a separate feature added to an HR system, Approli is being developed with automation as part of the employee operations experience.

Organizations can configure policies, workflows, responsibilities, schedules, approvals, reminders, and other operational rules so that routine processes can move forward with less manual coordination.

More Than an HR System

Approli includes capabilities commonly associated with human resource management, but its purpose extends beyond maintaining employee information.

We view HR as one part of a broader employee operations environment.

An employee may be hired and onboarded through a checklist, assigned to a department, scheduled for shifts, clock in and out, request leave, require a replacement when absent, complete operational tasks, and participate in approval workflows.

These activities are connected.

Approli is designed to connect those activities instead of treating each one as an isolated function.

Depending on the organization's configuration and subscription, Approli may provide capabilities for:

  • Employee management
  • Attendance and time tracking
  • Clock-in and clock-out
  • Department and location management
  • Shift scheduling
  • Employee availability and assignments
  • Leave and absence workflows
  • Absence replacement processes
  • Employee onboarding
  • Task and checklist management
  • Approvals and permissions
  • Manager and administrative workflows
  • Automated reminders and notifications
  • Thresholds and escalations
  • Operational policies
  • Reporting and data exports
  • Administrative activity records
  • Budget and spending workflows
  • Connected services and integrations

Feature availability may vary depending on product version, subscription, configuration, and other applicable conditions.

Automation at the Core

Automation is one of the fundamental ideas behind Approli.

Many employee operations are repetitive.

The same policies are applied repeatedly. The same approvals are requested. The same reminders are sent. The same information has to be checked. The same administrative steps have to be completed whenever a particular event occurs.

Approli is designed to help organizations turn these recurring processes into structured workflows.

Organizations can configure operational rules and workflows that help determine what should happen when specific conditions occur.

For example, depending on configuration, an organization may establish workflows around:

  • Employee onboarding
  • Attendance exceptions
  • Shift requirements
  • Employee absences
  • Replacement coordination
  • Approval requests
  • Reminders
  • Administrative follow-ups
  • Department processes
  • Policy-based actions
  • Recurring operational tasks

The purpose of these capabilities is to reduce unnecessary manual intervention while keeping authorized people involved where judgment or approval is required.

Approli does not intend to replace managers, HR professionals, administrators, or organizational decision-makers.

Instead, automation is designed to handle more of the repetitive coordination surrounding their work.

From Information to Action

Traditional business software often focuses on collecting information.

Approli is designed to go a step further.

Information becomes more useful when it can trigger an operational process.

  • An attendance event can require review.
  • An absence can require a replacement.
  • A new employee can require onboarding tasks.
  • A pending approval can require a manager's attention.
  • A scheduled shift can require capacity or compatibility checks.
  • A recurring task can require a reminder.

Approli is designed around these connections.

The objective is to create an environment where information, policies, people, and workflows work together rather than requiring administrators to manually connect each step.

Built for the People Running the Organization

Approli is designed for the people who actually operate an organization every day.

That includes administrators, HR teams, managers, department leaders, supervisors, and employees.

Each group interacts with employee operations differently.

Administrators

Administrators need visibility and control across the organization.

Approli provides tools intended to help administrators configure employee information, policies, permissions, schedules, workflows, approvals, and operational processes from a centralized platform.

Managers

Managers often need to make decisions quickly while dealing with changing schedules, employee absences, approvals, and operational requirements.

Approli is designed to give managers access to the information and workflows relevant to their responsibilities without requiring them to manage every administrative process manually.

Employees

Employees interact with many operational processes directly.

Approli is designed to provide employees with access to the functions relevant to them, such as attendance, schedules, leave, onboarding tasks, and other organization-defined workflows.

Organizations

At the organizational level, Approli is intended to provide a connected view of employee operations while allowing organizations to establish their own policies, structures, responsibilities, and workflows.

Designed Around Organizational Policies

Every organization operates differently.

Departments have different requirements. Locations may have different schedules. Managers may have different responsibilities. Employees may follow different policies depending on their role or department.

Approli is designed to accommodate these differences through configurable policies, permissions, workflows, schedules, and operational settings.

This allows organizations to establish processes that reflect how they actually operate rather than forcing every organization into exactly the same workflow.

At the same time, configuration does not eliminate organizational responsibility.

Organizations remain responsible for determining their policies, ensuring that those policies are appropriate for their operations, maintaining accurate information, assigning appropriate permissions, and reviewing automated processes.

Permission and Administrative Control

Employee operations involve sensitive organizational information and actions that may affect employees.

Approli therefore includes administrative and permission controls designed to help organizations determine what different users can access or manage.

Depending on configuration, permissions may govern areas such as:

  • Employee information
  • Attendance
  • Leave
  • Approvals
  • Services
  • Department responsibilities
  • Administrative functions
  • Workflow management
  • Budget and spending functions

The objective is to help organizations provide users with the access appropriate to their responsibilities while limiting unnecessary administrative access.

Organizations remain responsible for configuring permissions appropriately and reviewing access as roles and responsibilities change.

Employee Onboarding

Hiring an employee is only the beginning of the employment process.

New employees may need to complete multiple tasks before they are fully integrated into an organization.

Approli provides onboarding workflows designed to help organizations organize these activities into structured checklists.

Organizations can create onboarding processes around their own requirements and assign tasks that may include administrative steps, operational preparation, documentation, training, or other organization-defined activities.

Progress can then be tracked through the platform rather than relying entirely on separate spreadsheets, messages, or manual reminders.

Attendance, Scheduling, and Workforce Coordination

Employee attendance and scheduling can become complicated when organizations operate across departments, shifts, locations, or varying schedules.

Approli is designed to connect attendance and scheduling information with the operational workflows surrounding employees.

Depending on configuration, organizations can manage areas such as:

  • Employee clock-in and clock-out
  • Attendance records
  • Department schedules
  • Shifts
  • Weekly working policies
  • Break requirements
  • Employee assignments
  • Attendance exceptions
  • Absence workflows
  • Replacement coordination
  • Shift capacity
  • Employee compatibility requirements
  • Operational reporting

These capabilities are intended to provide organizations with a more structured way to manage workforce operations.

Budgetly

Approli also includes Budgetly, a budget and spending management capability designed to connect organizational spending workflows with broader employee and operational processes.

Budgetly can support organizational processes involving budget pools, access controls, spending limits, approvals, voting or weight-based approval processes, invoices, receipts, expiration rules, and audit-related records, depending on configuration.

Budgetly is designed to provide organizations with structured controls around spending while keeping relevant approval and administrative processes in one environment.

The availability and functionality of Budgetly may depend on the applicable Approli product and subscription.

Designed for Practical Use

Approli is not designed around the idea that organizations need the most complicated software possible.

It is designed around a simpler question:

Can the software make the organization's daily work easier?

That means prioritizing understandable workflows, practical controls, useful automation, and tools that solve real operational problems.

The goal is not to add complexity for the sake of adding features.

The goal is to make the processes organizations already perform easier to manage.

Automation With Human Oversight

Automation can make organizations more efficient, but automation should not remove appropriate human oversight.

Approli is designed to assist people with operational processes rather than independently determine what is best for an organization or its employees.

Organizations remain responsible for their employment policies, business decisions, regulatory obligations, and the configuration and use of their Approli environment.

Where a workflow requires human judgment, approval, or intervention, Approli is designed to provide the appropriate workflow or information to authorized users.

This approach allows automation to handle repetitive coordination while people remain responsible for decisions that require context, judgment, or organizational authority.

Security and Responsible Technology

Security is considered throughout the development and operation of Approli.

A Platform That Continues to Evolve

Approli is an evolving platform.

As organizations use the product, new operational requirements emerge, workflows change, and opportunities for automation become clearer.

Our development approach is therefore focused on continuously improving the platform around real operational needs.

This includes improving existing workflows, expanding automation capabilities, strengthening administrative controls, improving reporting and visibility, and developing integrations that allow organizations to connect Approli with other services they already use.

Product capabilities may change over time.

Our Philosophy

We believe employee technology should accomplish three things well:

Make work simpler.Make operations clearer.Make repetitive work easier to automate.

Organizations should not have to spend unnecessary time moving information between systems, following up on routine tasks, checking the same conditions repeatedly, or manually coordinating processes that can be structured and automated.

Approli is being built to help change that.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build technology that reduces the operational burden of managing employees.

We want organizations to spend less time coordinating administrative processes and more time serving their employees, customers, members, communities, and missions.

Approli is built around that purpose.

Less administrative work.More connected operations.Practical automation.
